The Mighty Rio Grande - One of the longest rivers of North America.  The Rio Grande flows out of the snowcapped Rocky Mountains in Colorado and journeys 1,900 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. It passes through 800 foot chasms of the Rio Grande Gorge, a wild and remote area of northern New Mexico. The canyon provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities, luring fishermen, hikers, artists, and whitewater boating enthusiasts. Access in the upper canyon is restricted by the terrain, but several trails lead to the rivers edge. The two most popular whitewater segments are the Taos Box, 17 miles of Class IV whitewater, and the 5 mile Racecourse, a Class III segment. The lower canyon is paralleled by state roads, and receives the majority of the recreational use.
The Rio Grande and Red River designation was among the original eight rivers designated by Congress as Wild and Scenic in 1968. The designation was extended by legislation in 1994 to include an additional 12 miles of the Rio Grande. The designated area includes 60 miles of the Rio Grande from the Colorado/New Mexico state line to just beyond BLM's County Line Recreation Site, and the lower 4 miles of the Red River.

    Better than Expected

Posted by David on 5th Jun 2018

I had a buddy 20 years ago that had a large border disk wok and always wished to have one myself. I purchased the Rio Grande 24" disk from Southwest Disk and I am ecstatic with the quality and expedient delivery. The only down side is that I wanted to order an additional one for fathers day and the site says they are sold out! I highly recommend this company and the 24" Rio Grand cooking disk.

Awesome Quality Product Made By Veterans

Posted by Chris Damico on 31st May 2018

After alot of research and checking out lota of companies big and small I made my decision to go with this company and the Rio Grande disk. I've used it several times in the couple weeks I have had it and man, this thing is amazing! It is a hefty chunk of steel that heats up very fast, heats very evenly across the entire surface, and cools extremely fast when done (good for being around kids, but better clean it fast unless you want to reheat or use other cleaning methods that may ruin that awesome seasoning). I am going to be purchasing a few more of different models and some of their other products soon. Oh, and they are made by a U.S.M.C Veteran so you are supporting a small Vet owned company! 10/10 product for sure!

Disc Cooking Add Another Dimension to Outdoor Cooking

Posted by ALEASE COPELIN on 24th May 2018

Having a grill and/ or smoker for cooking is foundational to outdoor cooking, the Southwest Disk adds another dimension and kicks options up a notch! Think fajitas plus...not only can vegetables be cooked and moved to keep warm, tortillas can be cooked and held as well as the meat sauted . My ribeyes are excellent when cooked on my Egg; however, cooking/basting in butter is delish as well...with the Disk, it's a snap.

    Awesome!!!

Posted by Stephen Loera on 26th Apr 2018

Love it, I felt like a kid on Christmas when it arrived and couldn't wait to get outside to use it. I called everyone over and cooked my first dish of Discada. Everyone loved it. Very well made, and the horseshoe handles just gave it that extra cool touch. It is easy to use and very easy to clean up. My bag and lid should be coming soon to complete it. This has got to be one of the best purchases Ive made for myself in a long time. Looking forward to cooking up more meals soon. Also the recipe book was really nice too.
