The Trinity Site, New Mexico (wiki link)

The Nuclear Age was ushered in with the world's first atomic detonation at Trinity Site on July 16, 1945. Trinity Site is located on the northern end of Whites Sands Missile Range in central New Mexico. Trinity Site, now only mildly radioactive, is open to the public for one day, twice a year.

Included on the Trinity Site tour is Ground Zero where the atomic bomb was placed on a 100-foot steel tower. A small monument now marks the spot. Visitors also see the McDonald ranch house where the world's first plutonium core for a bomb was assembled. The missile range provides historical photographs and a Fat Man bomb casing for display. There are no ceremonies or speakers.
Trinity Site is open to the public twice a year--on the first Saturday in April and October.

22" trinity oval handle- exceeded my expectations

Posted by Gerald Espinoza on 7th Feb 2017

I live in San Antonio by way of El Paso where disco cooking is big. Well, its not so big here in SA and it's even harder to find/buy an authentic disco, but thank god for the internet. I found southwest disk online and I emailed them directly with a few questions regarding their products. My email was answered quickly and they answered my question thoroughly. I was also impressed how fast my disk got here to SA. I waited to give my review until I actually used it. A group of friends used it over the Superbowl weekend and it worked, AMAZINGLY!! Everyone was impressed how well it cooked and how much food was able to be placed in it. Clean up was quick and easy. Absolutely love this product

    Awesome cooking disc

Posted by Unknown on 24th Dec 2016

I bought this after I saw my friend's setup. The disc is a quality piece, very thick metal and heavy, comes seasoned. Cooking on it is pretty simple and you can cook a wide range of food. Another benefit is that it is very easy to clean. I bought it for cooking at home and while camping. I would have bought sooner, but the kahuna burner was out of stock for a while, which I later bought from Amazon. Add a cover for you disc, a stick lighter, and wok spatula / shovel and you are good to go.

Awesome...a must have for those who cook outdoors

Posted by George knopic on 14th Nov 2016

Was introduced to disk cooking years ago by a friend who made me my own. It has been on numerous hunt and fishing trips not to mentioned used at home . IF you want a true plow disk...this is the place . I hope to make many memories out of this one. It's well made and crafted to last. Will be using this one alot! As a veteran myself ,the fact it's a veteran owned business is always a plus.

    Masterpiece Cooker

    Posted by T. J. Tatum on 23rd May 2016

I love this thing. I find myself not only cooking on it while we are outdoors, but also cooking some of our favorite dishes at home. My wife likes to show it off to anyone that comes over and how good the food is that comes off of it. I didn't realize it was veteran made at the time of purchase, but when I flipped it over to I saw the stamp and felt proud. Good job guys, you've made a cooker that will be used for years and passed down to the next generation

    Awesome

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Jan 2016

Growing up my scout leader used these, I always thought they were awesome. After finding southwest disk I had to have one. Prices are great, shipping was prompt, and the quality of workmanship is there. These will last forever, I will use them on my own scout outings as well as hunting and camping trips. You can cook almost anything in these! Already have family and friends wanting to order.

    Old School

Posted by Chris Gee on 7th Jun 2015

So my old man and I decided that we needed to expand our grilling mindset and get back to some of the older outside cooking that we enjoy. "Diskos" are abundant in El Paso, but the quality that we remembered (fifteen years ago) has diminished. Dad decided that he needed a 22" disko, and I searched all the local swap meets that sold them. All of them had the rim that he didn't want, and were curiously thin. Amazon led me to Southwestdisk. All the pictures looked like the disks I remembered our local vendors carrying so I took a chance. I ordered on a Sunday and received my disk on Tuesday. Solid is the best word for the disko I received. Cooked with it this morning. Bacon to help with the seasoning (it arrived seasoned), and eggs, beans, and choizo. Easy clean up and wiped it down with some oil before putting it away. Very pleased with the quality of this disk and look forward to the meals it will provide for my family at home and on the road. Disks will last as long as you care for them and some thing you can pass down to the inspiring cooks in your family. This is one my Dad and I will enjoy together and will pass down to my son when he outdoors it with is own.

    Plow Disk Cooking

Posted by Ray Jackson on 23rd May 2014

I used to make these disks for friends when I was pipe welder and had my own rig. After giving mine away many years ago I decided I wanted another one. Southwest sent me one straightway and as stated it was ready for use. Everyone enjoyed this style of cooking...so great job Southwest. Ray
